Autumn 2

In science this half term we will be exploring 'States of Matter'. Here are our objectives: 

• Compare and group the 3 states of matter?
• Explore how the particles behave in the different states of matter?  
• Explore freezing, melting and boiling points 
• Understand the water cycle and the role of evaporation and condensation

We will also be investigating electricity and circuits. Here are our objectives: 

• Identify common electrical appliances, construct a simple electrical circuit, identify and name basic parts of a circuit.
• Identify when a lamp will light in a simple series circuit.
• Understand the difference between a series and parallel circuit.
• Explain how to recognise electrical conductors and insulators; give examples of good and poor conductors.
• Explain how an electrical circuit works.
• To know how to work safely with electricity.
