Safeguarding
Your child’s safety is our utmost concern. We strive to make our children be (and feel) as safe as possible through a variety of means: through the physical means of ensuring gates and doors are locked at key times; through the vetting of visitors to school and of staff; by teaching children about their own safety be that on the topic of bullying, e-safety, or staying healthy; and by having comprehensive procedures if concerns are raised.
If you have any concerns about any of the children in our school then please make them known to the headteacher, Mr Reece, who is the ‘designated safeguarding lead’ or the deputy, Ms Hodkinson, who is the ‘deputy designated safeguarding lead’
For out of hours concerns then please email brooklodgesafeguarding@sthelens.org.uk
Please be aware also, that this school is part of Operation Encompass – a partnership between ourselves and Merseyside Police which informs us of any domestic abuse reported to the police the next morning.
For further details please read our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy below. The other documents give all schools guidance on keeping children safe. Other useful policies can be found in the policies section of this website, including our Anti Bullying policy; Online Safety policy, and Behaviour for Learning policy.
Children reaching their full potential is partly down to high attendance rates. Low attendance can also be an indicator of other areas of concern. We will always phone to make contact if we have not received information as to why a child is absence on the first day. We track individual attendance of pupils and have access to the Education and Welfare Officer from Rainford High Schol, Mr D Taylor, who will offer support where necessary - please see our Attendance Policy for further details.
